This Thanksgiving break I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to visit the National Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington D.C. It was a life changing experience and I can not wait to return. My wife and I spent hours in the museum. There is no way I could capture everything so I encourage everyone to visit. There was an entire exhibit dedicated to Emmett Till but no devices were allowed. That was indeed the exhibit that brought a continuous flow of tears. Afterwards we visited the Contemplative Court. A place where visitors can gather themselves to take a breath because you will experience a plethora of emotions. They also have these reflections booths on all the levels. After visiting exhibits you enter the booth and leave your reflections on different questions. I hope to make this a yearly trip because this museum is full of history and I feel like I have to experience it over multiple trips.
