 I’m actually really looking forward to incorporating interactive technology in my classroom next year. My school will be embarking on 1:1 technology. This is truly going to revolutionize the way our students learn. There are so many benefits of interactive technology being implemented in my classroom. I believe I will have more flexibility with my teaching methods, more engaged students, boost student communication skills, availability to offer more enrichment activities and opportunities, and enhance students’ technology knowledge and skills. I have only had experience with my mentor teacher’s interactive board. It was her first year teaching this grade level so she was new to the board as well. We went through the growing pains of learning how to operate the board. However, once we started using it, I couldn’t stop. It provided me with endless opportunities to create, edit and deliver interactive lessons. With the software my school purchased, I was able to access free interactive lessons, activities, and games created by other teachers for teachers. I won’t have this smart board in my classroom next year but I will implement interactive technology within my classroom. It is important that teachers remember to select technology that promotes enhanced learning for all.
