"For America’s educators, this is a great day: You’re going to have one of your own in the White House." What an amazing time for all educators. Our future First Lady is an educator, a teacher, a professor, and an instructor. As an educator myself, it gives me great #JOY to know someone in the White House will have my back. #FirstLady #JillBiden #FirstLadyDrJillBiden I'm excited to see what's to come for education. President Elect Joe Biden has promised to triple spending for the Title 1 program, which targets high-poverty schools like the one I teach at. He also stated he would double the number of psychologists, counselors, nurses and social workers in schools. He has even promised new money for school infrastructure. More importantly he has said he would dramatically increase federal spending for special education. This is so important with the new inclusion guidelines laid out before educators we want to ensure that no student is left behind. He also plans to fund a universal prekindergarten for all 3- and 4-year-old children, make community college free, and double Pell grants to help low-income students pay for college. Last but certainly not least, President Elect Joe Biden has promised to address the Covid 19 guidelines for schools. I am an educator at a school who required me to teach in person during a very scary time. There was so much pressure from President Trump to reopen schools that we were placed in an unfortunate position. I'm happy to know that we will have someone in the White House who actually cares about the safety of teachers and students in America. I believe that First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, will ensure that these things and so much more be addressed during their time in office. Subscribe here to get more content like this!
