Virtual learning is a web-based platform that has been defined as a learning experience that is enhanced digitally. Virtual learning includes E-learning, web-based learning, online learning, distance learning, and blended learning. The quality of virtual learning depends on the proper use of digital technologies.
 Virtual learning allows teachers to interact with more students. It can also introduce new pedagogical techniques and make learning more personal and accessible. It provides remote access to educational services, individualized learning processes, flexible learning, and a safe and secure learning environment.  It is important to ensure that students are remaining engaged throughout their virtual learning experience. A few ways to keep students engaged is through communicating in multiple formats, providing active learning opportunities, making learning social, providing timely and meaningful feedback, adding self-assessment opportunities, and ensuring course accessibility for all. Another great way to engage students is through the gamification of learning. Let’s face it, this is the generation of gamers and technology use, so it’s time that we incorporate these interests into our lessons.
