Secure the Bag My students come to me as mere muggles, and throughout the course, the goal is for them to transform, and by the end of the year, graduate as math wizards as they depart from the WWOM. I teach sixth graders so that is not always the easiest task to accomplish. As a first year teacher I decided to implement a rewards system in which students "secure their bags." This system will allow students to collect gold coins throughout their learning experience for their varying levels of engagement and participation. The more they participate and engage in the mathematical magic taking place the more coins they can earn. At the end of each semester, they can turn in their coins for prizes that include drinks, snacks and Harry Potter items. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
